Hi

I've got a problem. I wanted to connect my Keyboard to my PC.
I've tried it now with 3 Keyboards (Technics KN800, KN3000 and KN6000), 2 different PCs (both with a midiport installed on the soundcard - one Soundblaster 64 and one Terratec Gold 16/96) and different software (Capella, Capriccio, Cubase, Magix MusicStudio) and 2 cables (same type, at one side the two midi-plugs (in/out), on the other side a 15 pin Gameport/Midi-Plug).
But wasn't able to get something inside the PC. The other way (playing a file on the computer and want to hear it over the keyboard) it also didn't work...
Input-Device is "ESS-MPU401".

I think that some setting on the keyboard or at the software is wrong.
My primary Keyboard is the KN3000 - if someone of you can help me with the settings, please reply. Perhaps Technics Keyboards must be set different !?
I don't know what to do anymore... please help me !!!

Bye

Daniel

P.S. sorry for my bad english, i'm from germany and just speaking english at school ;-)

I think you are perhaps making some sort of basic error here, since none of those keyboards work.

Do you know how MIDI works? You know about channels? You have some kind of music software where you select MIDI-ports and channels?

Be even more specific.

I know a little bit about Midi - but it seems that i don't know enough.
i think that over midi 16 different channels can be set and every channel is to send informations from the one to the other midiinstrument (just one direction, i think).

but i don't know much more about how midi works - does anybody know a page where i can read something about midi ?

Greetings
